Silvio Takes the Cake
So, my scarf purchase turned out to be quite sage indeed. Berlusconi’s center-right coalition won the elections that took place yesterday and today and will be prime minister again. And, surprise, surprise… he made the front page of the NYT online—well, the top of the left column anyway. Looks like this country is continuing right on towards the gutter. I predict the separation of the north from the south of Italy, in some fashion—or, at least in some grand attempt—in the next five years. Just give it time. It will happen.|
